Goals / Timeline

  • October 2015 Becca Stevens spoke at Christ Church Episcopal
  • February 2016 19 volunteers from Triune Mercy Center and Christ Church traveled to Thistle Farms in Nashville for a 2 day workshop
  • March 2016 Partnership formed between Triune Mercy Center and Christ Church to create new non-profit modeled after Thistle Farms with seed money provided by both partners
  • April 2016 Leadership team formed with co-chairs Kathryn Norwood from Christ Church and Karen Eller from Triune Mercy Center
  • May 2016 Beth Messick joined the team as project advisor sharing her wealth of knowledge about the issue of sexual exploitation, bringing her organization Emerson’s Rest under the umbrella of Triune Mercy Center
  • June 2016 Triune Mercy Center provided office and meeting space
  • November 2016 Jasmine Road, Inc. was formed
  • January 2017 Jasmine Road Board was formed with 9 directors
  • February 2017 First Jasmine Road House purchased with the help of Christ Church
  • February/March 2017 A logo/brand was developed for Jasmine Road to aid in communicating its mission to the organization’s stakeholders
  • March 2017 Developed mission and vision statements and core values
  • April 2017 Formed grant writing team
  • June 2017 Received 501(c)(3) organization status
  • July 2017 Jasmine Road was the recipient of a $40,500 grant from the United Thank Offering Board of the Episcopal Church to assist in funding the organization’s start-up costs
  • August 2017 Bon Secours becomes Jasmine Road’s Healthcare Partner
  • September 2017 Jasmine Road was the recipient of a $40,000 grant from John I. Smith Charities for capital funds designated to help renovate the organization’s first safe house
  • October 2017 Jasmine Road was officially launched at the first Rooted in Love Luncheon
