Elizabeth Jemison is Assistant Professor of Religion at Clemson University where she teaches courses in American religious history and writes about Christianity, race, and politics in southern history. Her first book, Christian Citizens: Race and Politics in the Post-Emancipation South, is under contract with the University of North Carolina Press. Elizabeth holds a Ph.D. in the Study of Religion with a Secondary Field in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies from Harvard University and an A.B. in Religion from Princeton University. She is a native of Memphis, Tennessee, and she and her husband Andrew Malwitz are members of Triune Mercy Center. She and Andrew enjoy exploring the outdoors in and around Greenville with their young son.
