Our mission is to provide a path to healing and economic opportunity for women survivors of sex trafficking, prostitution, and addiction.
Our vision is that Jasmine Road will be a community that supports and embraces women experiencing and exiting exploitation.
Our History
The Beginning of the Road
Jasmine Road is modeled after the very successful Thistle Farms, a non-profit organization, which was founded in Nashville, Tennessee by Episcopal priest Becca Stevens more than 20 years ago. The Greenville affiliate was incorporated in 2016 as a result of a partnership between Christ Church Episcopal, Triune Mercy Center and Bon Secours, St. Francis Health System.
When Jasmine Road’s first safe house opened its doors in May 2018, it joined more than 50 Thistle Farms sister agencies around the country in offering a transformative two-year residential program with an innovative social enterprise component, the first of its kind in Greenville.
Jasmine Kitchen
Second Chances Served Daily
The capstone of our social enterprise is Jasmine Kitchen, a lunch café providing job training, employment, and career building opportunities — the first-of-its-kind in Greenville. Jasmine Kitchen seeks to remove barriers to employment for survivors, and is a nurturing and safe gathering place for our entire community to share healthy meals together and be a part of something bigger than ourselves.
Jasmine Boutique
Made By Hand & With Purpose
Jasmine Road's boutique features candles, body care products, and other carefully-crafted retail goods, made by women in the program building a new future. Every purchase helps fund their path to safe housing, healing, and employment.
Why Jasmine?
South Carolina’s beloved Carolina jasmine symbolizes the separation between what has been and what can be. Hardy and resilient, Carolina jasmine can be cut back and still return with renewed strength. Its persistence reflects the courage of the women of Jasmine Road as they leave exploitation and addiction behind to follow a new path rooted in healing, freedom, and hope. Like the state flower blooming along roads across South Carolina, jasmine reminds us that even after hardship, a new beginning can take root close to home.
